After more than 30 years as one of Staten Island’s most recognizable saloons, Big Nose Kate’s has officially closed its doors. Known for its rustic Western theme and Southwest cuisine, bar scene, the saloon leaves behind a legacy that regulars won’t soon forget.
I still remember my early 20’s, sitting out on their outdoor patio with sizzling fajitas — it was always one of my favorite spots to grab a meal and relax. Big Nose Kate’s had wing nights with their .50 cent wings years ago, drawing in big crowds for game nights, and their menu was packed with Tex-Mex favorites that kept the place busy week after week.
The atmosphere was always full of energy — whether it was live music, dart leagues, or just friends meeting up after college classes to kick back and enjoy the night. It was the kind of place where you could count on good food, cold drinks, and a great time no matter when you stopped by.
Now, with the doors closed, all that remains are the memories — Big Nose Kate’s was more than just a bar; it was a piece of Staten Island history that will be deeply missed.
