"I love ordering from Taste of India! The food is always well prepared and seasoned. There aren't many Indian restaurants but when compared this is by far the best. The portions are reasonable and can easily be shared amongst two or three people.
My only gripe with them is the delivery. While I have never received the wrong item or a mess, it does take longer than most other places to deliver. I only live 3 miles from them and it always takes an hour for delivery do keep that in mind. Otherwise, it's a great place if you're looking for something different."

"I have ordered delivery twice from this restaurant. I am sad to say that i am extremely disappointed!
The first delivery came and there was curry all over the inside of the bag, i did not receive any rice with my curry and did not receive any napkins or forks. The plastic container lid was not properly put on and curry chicken went everywhere! They also gave me the wrong bread.
The second order was a couple days later. It also was wrong, again no napkins or forks. As for the food, I ordered the "Chef's Special Biryani" which includes a mix of "vegetables, meat and shrimp." There were only 3 shrimp in the whole order and the rice wasn't seasoned with enough curry so it tasted bland. The bread was also wrong again. I also ordered Rasmalai since I had it in a Manhattan restaurant and loved it. But what i received was NO GOOD! It was SOUR and looked like curdled milk!
I have eaten in the restaurant several times and everything was great when dining in but for some reason delivery is horrible!
I love Indian Food and this is one of the better places on Staten Island so i will try delivery 1 more time.
If the restaurant owners read this, Please check and see whats going on with the food that's delivered. I would hate to have to go somewhere else and find a different restaurant."

"I remember when their buffet ran 3 afternoons. Now they are down to only Sunday afternoon. They no longer serve the poppadom with the buffet as they first did. And they used to serve other meat instead of just chicken. So now every main chaffing dish only contains chicken with a sauce. What happen to lamb or beef or, surprise, shrimp And when they replenish the dish, all they do is just cook plain chicken and throw it into the sauce. I witnessed that. So the chicken tastes like plain chicken dipped in sauce. Too bad. Used to look forward to their buffet. Don't think that we will be there anytime soon."

"The food is really delicious, the Tandoori Salmon is the best Salmon I ever had. The Tandoori Grill is extremely healthy that doesn't use any oil and cooks the fish to real tasty perfection. The dish is also served over Onions and Peppers with a side of Basmati rice."

"Yum!! The Chicken Tikka Masala is delicious. Everything has just enough spice and I'm not a spice lover. The Nan bread is good as well. My husband had the chicken vindaloo which he said was really good. We don't eat Indian food often but this is definitely the place we will go to or order from when we do."

"Funny reading to two last reviews... Spices to enhance food? HELLO, this is indian food, curry sauce is 98 percent spices and 2 percent other ingredients. And the other one looking for happy hour meals and free appetizers, really? because you did not get it does not make the place terrible. The food is very good and while I will agree the portions are smaller. but $12 for curry chicken is not that bad considering in the city you can pay in upwards to $18 - $20. The only problem I have had here is the occasional missing item from a take out or delivery order, but they always made good on it on the next order. The food is very good. Ask for mild for the kids, you get it mild. I like it hot... I get it that way. Never had any issue with the taste, quality and freshness of the food or customer service. That is how you rate and review a restaurant... not because you did not get something free or because you did not like spice when all their food is made with lots of spices."

"Even though just the only "real" Indian restaurant on staten island, taste of india still makes food as if they are surrounded by options. Tandoori grilled chicken is tender and healthy, vegetable dishes very tasty nearly all of them and the panzer cottage cheese dishes are right up withered with the best nyc has to offer."

"I just finished a review for seaside and have the exact same review for Taste of India nearly identical. There is an influx of quick fly by night indian restaurants around staten island, nearly every corner and we have tried many of them but not one compares to this In consistency. Indian clove moved then changed owners or chefs so many times already you don't know what you will get. There is no longer a point of trying stick to what you know and it never disappoints"
