"From the Glowing Charcoal Hearth.....
Colonnade Diner is a very good diner. I've been going here for probably 10+ years and I can't ever remember sending anything back. Their burgers are pretty large and cooked properly. Soups and salads are very well prepared and of good portion size.
Their daily specials are usually great deals. The ambience is very nice, what you come to expect of a Staten Island diner. The volume is acceptable for conversation/meetings.
Additionally, the parking is ample with their under-building parking and the side street.
The prices are average to high for diners, but the food quality makes it worth it along with the ability to hear yourself talk."

"Burgers are enormous and delicious but are a bit expensive. 9 dollars for the burger alone no cheese. The steak fries are terrible though. They are always dry and just nasty."

"What I ordered was not the way I ordered it. The roll was stale they did not use butter but some other kind of spread. The eggs were well done when ordered over easy and the corn beef was mush. The waitress did not want to speak to the manager about taking it off the bill. I will never go back even 1 star is more than the deserve."

"NEVER AGAIN... Me and my friend ate here today and we are paying for it we are both sick to our stomachs. The sour cream was warm and I made a comment about the smell but we thought it was just the brand we are both paying for it now. The chicken in the quesadilla also smelled and tasted weird. Waitress never came to check on us she just sat at the counter complaining about her day till I loudly stated this really smells as I was gagging. She came over to the table asked if we wanted it wrapped my friend said no and she put the check down and left. We both were over it by this time we paid the check and left. Later my boyfriend called to let them know and all they said was they will check. We will no longer be going here when we used to come all the time service and food has gone downhill Sad as both our families loved going here. Seems like they are no longer the #1 diner on Staten Island! Not even worth one star but they make you pick at least one"

"I give this place minus 5 stars if it was possible. The food is hit or miss depending on who is cooking it. The service is the worst I have ever seen. The servers are always talking among themselves. They are more concerned about playing lotto quick pick than taking care of the customers. The worst is a older blond server with the rosary beads tattos on her hands . She has an attitude problem. She needs to be more pleasant to the customers. The coffee is bitter you go in for breakfast and the toast is always not quite done. You get one tiny pkg of jelly. You ask for another jelly and she acts like shes doing you the favor. You are lucky if they refill your coffee cup. You are better off drive thru at Mcdonalds than this place."

"I have been a regular customer at the Colonnade Diner for a couple of years. I eat there at least 4 or 5 days a week and sometime twice in one day for breakfast and dinner. The food is amazing and cooked to perfection. Peter who is an excellent server along with his sister Kelly always greet me with a smile. They always attend to my needs and since I eat dinner by myself most of the time they always make me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this diner and for great service ask for Peter or Kelly ????"

"I came in for dinner last week and I asked for a little coleslaw and was told that I would have to pay for it. Are you kidding me!!!!! You go to other diners and they put it on the table plus extras. Won’t be going back to the Colonnade ??"

"It’s such a shame that this restaurant has changed so much. The waiters and waitresses have to take flack because the ownership has become so penny pinching. To charge a doll figure for whipped cream and to announce in large print that two dollars extra is charged for substitution of French fries to onion rings is crazy. Onions are cheaper than potatoes and how much could a can of whipped cream cost for the tiny Dop on top of desert? It’s no wonder that other diners are flourishing they offer free pickles, cole slaw, fruit etc as soon as you sit down. I do understand increase in price when necessary but minor substitutions are ridiculous."

"There is this waiter named Peter who is unprofessional in the things he says especially to woman that can be very offensive and degrading. He asked a woman out loud who was sitting alone in a table behind ours if she had a big one because I have a big one for you. He laughs and thinks this is funny. He once called one of the other waiters a queer. I don’t know why anyone thinks this is acceptable and should have more self respect to report his behavior. This is considered sexual harassment."

"I am responding to a comment about Peter the waiter being unprofessional. I have been eating at the Colonnade for years and Peter has always been my waiter of choice. He has always been professional, attentive, kind and funny. He loves to joke and I think that the comment that was made was addressed to me about do you have a big one was referring to a big antibacterial wipe that I always use before I eat which he always asks if I had one for him. I have never heard him say anything sexually offensive to me or anyone. People should not take things out of context and should know all the facts before they make a public comment or statement. People should be concerned about their own lives before they try to destroy someone’s reputation and livelihood."

"The colonnade has always been one of my favorite diners. I have been goi g here for a lot of years. Mostly I go alone and I really appreciate the fact that I am treated like family. The waitress Kelly is sweet and kind the waiter Peter has always been professional and kind as well as the waiter Jimmy. This person who tried to make trouble out of a situation that they had no business listening too is terrible. Whether it be a co worker or patron it just seems that that person has too much time on their hands. These waiters work hard and yet they try to be kind and attentive and if they joke with a client who knows if that is or isn’t the only person that that patron has spoken to all day. I’m sure if the person was offended he or she would have stated it to management. So if you hear something g you do t like mind your own business unless it was directed to you. You have no knowledge of the complete co text of the situation or conversation. Keep up the good work Peter some of us appreciate you and will keep returning because of you."
